AMS 2015 Company Christmas Letter

Posted by on 6:24 pm in News | 0 comments

Merry Christmas 2015:                                                                                                   12/03/15 This makes the fifth annual Christmas letter from the president. I have been reviewing the four previous Christmas letters and I find the progress that we have made and the distance we have come remarkable.  I think 2015 will go down as the year of change when we someday look back on the first five years of AMS operations.  Despite and even because of the many changes we have continued to persevere and provide our customers with the high level of service they have come to expect. I once again am honored to say that I enjoy the opportunity to lead and work alongside those of you who have chosen to continue to serve AMS. I ended the letter last year letting you know that we had a couple of big projects in the closing phase. While the aviation related project did not materialize the non- aviation project did and I’m happy to have the Sardis Lake Marina as part of our family of companies.  It is important to keep in mind that we are a service industry, we happen to have started in aviation but at our core we provide high level services to our customers, not products, goods, ideas or data but SERVICE.  The marina allows us to continue to provide that service to a different market and to a wider range of customers thus diversifying our operations and spreading risk, making the whole operation stronger while remaining true to our core business. Perhaps the most noticeable change for 2015 is the all new management staff.  Starting with Daniel taking over FBO operations in late 2014, then Ben joining the team as the General Manager of the newly acquired Sardis Lake Marina, followed in March by Justin filling the opening from the departure of Mike Miles in BNA and his subsequent promotion to the General Managers position, then Nick taking the slot of Tupelo maintenance General Manager after Matt Schulz moved to Florida to be closer with family in June.  I’m proud of our new management team and the progress they have made thus far, particularly of Justin Hoback who just three years ago was hired on as an overnight line technician.  The progress he has made, the dedication he has shown, and the potential that still remains is inspirational to me and should be to you who desire to advance your careers with AMS. The entertainment committee was created last year and while the company was able to give back to those nominated with Erick receiving the grand prize, I don’t feel like we have properly used this program in 2015.  This is why for 2016 I have asked Jeremy to officially take over the responsibility of ensuring that AMS does all it can to show employees that the company does care and that your efforts and dedication are noticed and appreciated.  Jeremy will be putting a team together to assist in this task, please feel free to volunteer!  It takes participation from you to make this program successful. For 2015 I have chosen Ramiro as the recipient for the annual grand prize. Ramiro has shown an unmatched enthusiasm for his job and this company.  He takes the initiative to learn new skills and is constantly seeking to improve himself, his...

Download PDF AMS Purchases the Sardis Lake Marina in Mississippi Press Release January 24, 2015 Sardis, Mississippi. Airline Maintenance Service Inc, better known as “AMS”, has announced the purchase of the Sardis Lake Marina at Sardis Lake in Mississippi. The marina is host to 140 boats and features yearlong access to Lake Sardis. AMS plans to add dock space as demand warrants. President Corey Gillard points out that the original plans for the marina called for up to 400 slips. “We are looking forward to achieving that vision of a 400 slip marina and we will soon start a list for those who are interested in locating at the marina.” Mr. Gillard indicated that both covered and uncovered slips are planned. Food service is also part of the first season’s plans for the Sardis Lake Marina. The marina had served food in the past but it was pre-prepared and of low quality. Tenants of the marina and the general public can look forward to expanded food services available before Memorial Day. Fresh food and sit down meal service are part of the plans. Other services for the marina that are planned are boat rentals, sales and service along with a greatly expanded ships store. AMS Director of Business Development, Erick Larson, explains that tenants of the marina are foremost in the company’s plans. “For years the tenants of the marina have had few services or amenities other than a slip at this great lake. That changes now”, he said. Mr. Larson points out that in the first few days after the acquisition, AMS has already changed the management personnel, completed demolition of the previous administrative office space and begun construction on a lounge area for tenants. The space will have couches, big screen TVs and complimentary coffee and water. Additionally, the company has already installed a High Definition security camera system to help protect the tenants. Those interested in learning more about the marina are encouraged to call management at 662-578-7922 or email [email protected] A website at www.sardismarina.com is currently under development. AMS of Tupelo Receives a “Letter of Recommendation” Testimonial

Posted by on 2:49 pm in News | 0 comments

Download PDF November 20, 2013 Matthew Schulz General Manager AMS of Tupelo Dear Matt, Sometimes the most frustrating situations introduce you to great people. That was certainly the case for us with our recent experience in Tupelo. Upon landing in Tupelo for a quick en-route top off, we knew we were in serious need of a good mechanic to troubleshoot a problem with our landing gear and make some repairs to the plane. After working with Matt and his team at AMS of Tupelo, we knew we were in good hands. In quick order, the right parts were sourced, and the plane was back in the air. We were so impressed by our experience that although we are based in North Dallas, we are seriously considering sending our planes out to AMS for our annual inspections. We couldn’t have been more pleased with the team, the overall responsiveness and professionalism. Thanks again to AMS for all the help. Regards, Reed Williams LandPlan Development Frisco,...
